Jaclyn Whitt, also known as Princess of Yah to her music fans, has always been a fan of the performing arts. Music played a huge role in her childhood, teaching her both music and discipline. Acting was a close second. Though she had fewer opportunities to pursue acting, friends and family had no choice but to endure her many characters she developed, complete with accents and backstories. She began writing sketches for stage in her early teens and wrote her first feature length film script in her early 20's. Jaclyn produced her first album of instrumental music at the age of 19. A little more than a decade later, she released her second album under the artist name "Princess of Yah". Life got busy, as life does with children and a new marriage, and music and writing had to take a back seat for a time. She joined with her husband to run their family business; an online Christian radio station, where she wrote and produced several commercials and was one of the main voices on air. In 2019, she discovered a love for audio book narration when her husband presented the idea. It was a great fit as it required both acting and audio production. But, when a friend introduced her to a screenwriting professor who was willing to take her under his wing and mentor her, she dove in whole-heartedly and hasn't looked back!
Since 2021, Jaclyn has been winning screenwriting awards, pitching to producers, writing scripts for actors' DEMO REELS, and consulting on writing projects.
