Jaci Redlin (A.K.A. Princess of Yah)
My name is Jaci Redlin. I have a simple life but I dream big! I've loved music for as long as I can remember. My childhood was full of singing, dancing, composing and learning practically every instrument I could get my hands on. I'll get around to sharing bits of my personal life's journey in my blogs and videos, but right now, I want to share with you what's been on my heart for a few years.
As I've been working on this album, I've put much prayer into how to handle the business side of things. For me, this isn't about talent and entertainment - although I do strive to provide those as well. For me, this is a ministry. These songs have been inspired by life; sometimes my own, sometimes people I've known. Music has a way of connecting with people on a level that the written and spoken word cannot. I don't feel right to put a price on them. That's not to say that I don't want to earn a living this way, but rather to say that I want these songs to be available to everyone, regardless of their financial position.
All the completed songs on this site (the ones available for download) have already been paid for. Please enjoy them and be blessed to download them without cost. The way I've approached things so far is to raise enough funds to cover the cost of a project, then complete the project and release it to the public for FREE! If you would like to be a blessing and contribute to the production of future songs, as I have many more, then I encourage you to make a donation. Go to the bottom of the music download page to learn how.
For those who are curious about the cost of producing this quality of music, let me share the details - I don't mind. :) For these songs I'm currently releasing, along with the 7 more I'll be releasing in the spring, they have averaged between $1500 and $2000 per song, from conception to release. However, since my last fundraising efforts afforded me to begin building my own home studio, my costs will come down some, but not a lot because I still have to hire out for certain jobs. If I need to hire studio musicians, I also need to rent a studio space to record in, etc. Also, as mixing and mastering is it's own art, and not one I've mastered, I must also out-source that portion of the production. This is why I encourage people to donate to the ministry. I have the skills, the talent, the passion and the heart... but I lean on Yah for the resources. Be blessed to be a blessing!
